Can I buy items in smaller sizes than a size 16?

About half of the items stocked are available in smaller sizes, and these can make excellent gifts for friends. Use the 'Contact Us' facility to send an enquiry, and we will get back to you with a reply.

Do you shjp abroad?

Yes, we do, but we often need to charge additional postage. When you order you will be charged the standard UK P&P of £5.90. If your items are to be sent abroad, we weight them, work out the cost, and contact you so that you have the opportunity to think about the additional cost of shipping before we dispatch. Additional costs are usually paid via PayPal. A parcel of 1.5kg going outside of the EU costs approx £19.00, so you would need to pay the additional £13.00. A single item within the EU cost approx £9.00.

The cost of shipping boots outside the EU is often considered prohibitive, at £60.00 to, say, Australia. Where possible we will refer customers to suppliers in their own country, or we explore cheaper options such as sea mail. How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Although the official answer is that you should allow 28 days for delivery, we aim to dispatch all stock items on the day of order (or the next working day for late-in-the-day or weekend orders). Please allow 2 - 3 days more at busy times. All items except boots are sent by First Class 'Signed For' post. The PO states that about 90% of First Class post arrives the next day. Boots are sent by courier, and take 1 - 3 days to arrive.

Does someone have to be at home to sign for my order?

All orders must be signed for. If no-one is likely to be at home, you have several choices:

a) Let us know an alternative address, where someone will be at home to sign for your order.

b) Have your order delivered to your work address.

c) Let the post office attempt to deliver it, even though you will be out. They will put a card through your door, and you can then collect your parcel from the Post Office.

How accurate are the sizings?

As you will know, sizing of clothes is not standardised in the UK. Sizes do vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. For this reason we have given you guidance to sizes on the website. Keep in mind, though, that for jods and breeches, and for stretch blouses, there is ample 'give' in the fabric. This makes sizing less critical, and also allows for weight fluctuations.
